ABOUT
Let’s throw it back to the 1970s for a hot minute. The rise of punk music, and punk subculture in general, encouraged as well as was facilitated by self-publications. Early fanzines, like Punk, provided information about the lesser known music scenes in places like New York and the UK. Since then, art and amateur publications have had an intimate bond.
In carrying on with this tradition, Caitlin Billard, Gee Peralta, and Caralie Byrnes intended to create an online art magazine with an emphasis on Charleston. WoodChuck aims to explore and advocate for Charleston’s dynamic underground arts scene. Our goal is to promote under-represented creatives, particularly via our Press Pass project.
WoodChuck is where we combine our passions of the the arts and publishing in an attempt to fully experience and appreciate the place we call home and the talented individuals with whom we live in this inspiring and artistically vibrant city.
