February 2nd

Living Color! A Local Live Artists Showcase

8 p.m. - 2 a.m. at the Purple Buffalo

Okay people, here’s what you need to know. This show is free, okay? PBRs - they are 1 stinkin’ dollar. This is the Live Artist Team’s debut and some sick artwork is going to be featured while Stereo Booty plays. There’s going to be live painting, merchandise selling, beer drinking, and booty shaking. Go see for yourself. Show up at 8 to meet the lovely lady artists!

February 3rd

MyBrother MySister and Dumb Doctors

6 p.m. at Monster Music & Movies

Guys - another free one. Grab some friends, roll over to Monster, and listen to some Columbia grunge pop + Charleston psych rock while supporting your local indie record shop. And maybe leave with a record or two (the 25 cent 45s are irresistible).

Red Rose Vintage and Tuff Stuff Vintage Pop-Up Show

7 p.m. - 11 p.m. at Crooked Crown

Ladies and Gentlemen, girls and boys: By this point, honestly, if you haven’t made it to a Red Rose pop-up… I don’t want to make you feel bad but you’re missing the hell out and need to just go already. And what better time than when these vintage shops are set up outside of a popsicle cocktail bar?? Imagine: you, rocking the hell out of a newly purchased 1980s denim jacket, propped against the Dream Stream holding a popsicle in one hand, casually running your fingers (real slo-mo like) through your hair with the other. Coolest kid on the block.

Ah, the highly anticipated SondorBlue set at Eclectic is almost upon us. They’ll be playing fresh new tracks while you chill in the closest thing you’ll get to Central Perk meets record shop. There will be free stickers…

Super Cypher 2: Last Emcee Standing

9 p.m. - 2 a.m. at The Purple Buffalo

This is a fun one, kids: Charleston Hype’s bi-monthly Super Cypher. Go support Charleston’s hip-hop scene and enjoy watching skilled rappers perform head to head. Make sure to scream ya head off for your fave emcee - that’s how they win!

Saturday Morning Writer’s Group

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at The Eclectic Cafe & Vinyl

It’s Saturday morning. You lay awake in bed. You’ve been in a slump lately. Not sure what’s worth even getting out of bed for anymore. You’ve been experiencing writers block for days. What are you to do? WELL, get out of bed, comb your hair, and head to Eclectic for writer’s group! Share ideas, get inspired, and pick up your journal! Or, you know, go order a grilled cheese (they’re delicious) and vibe off of everyone else’s ambition and creative juices.
