In case you didn't get enough of Will Mahoney in our recent Press Pass, we've got a little more on the 'Honester. We know he's a talented bassist, but let's get down to what's important... to the harder-hitting questions. Here's more on Mahoney:

"I do not like cats."
(… We didn’t really ask the question, he just sort of volunteered that information)
What was your first electric guitar?
Epiphone SG (all black) "Felt pretty rock-and-roll-esque."
Who were your first bass inspirations?
John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin)
John Entwistle (The Who)
What's your favourite cereal?
Cinnamon Toast Crunch
How do you start your morning?
By waking up in bed... “sometimes its my bed, sometimes it's a hotel bed... I look at my phone and scroll through it for about 15 minutes or so and convince myself to go get coffee." (Kudu = "THE spot for coffee” downtown)
Where's your favourite place to play?
"At home. The most rewarding place I ever played was the first time I played a sold out show at the Music Farm with Stop Light… My other favorite is Brooklyn Bowl in New York City - cool vibe, awesome place."
Where's somewhere you'd like to play?
"I wanna tour out west. The guys have played in California but I really want to play out there, get the whole west coast vibe compared to east coast"

What do you like to wear on stage?
Cole Haan desert boot style shoes are the go-tos. "They’re classy looking but they’re casual looking at the same time." When it's hot on stage, he pairs them with greenish, tannish skinny pants and a black T-Shirt. When it’s colder or he wants to "dress up classy," it’s boots, black pants and a new red button down from American Eagle. He went on to say, "#AE. I get all of my clothes from there. Like everything.” (Sponsor??)
What is the secret to having Mahoney hair?
"Redken shampoo and conditioner and some random gel moulding paste." (Will actually has a hair stylist up in Summerville who has been cutting his hair all 5 years he’s been in Charleston. She's the only person he will go to and you bet he'll be hitting her up before those important future photoshoots.)
What is your go-to drink?
"If I want to be classy, a fernet and cola. I just recently came upon that, Will Blackburn showed me that drink — had that up in New York City and felt super classy but the bottle cost like $40. If I’m just chilling, I like Blue Moon’s white ale or something like that with an orange, also Heineken" or other lighter beers.
What song are you into right now?
Our Deal - Best Coast ("I relate to that song a lot, on a personal level... I just kind of think back to that moment whenever I heard it and get kind of a low, empty feeling but it's just so comforting - and I love those jangly guitar sounds")
Dopamine - DIIV
He's also been into Mosaic, who he heard the night before our interview. (He bought their EP and you could, too. If you want.)

That's all for now! Hopefully you feel you've gotten to know Mr. Mahoney quite well. If you've stumbled upon this interview without having read our Press Pass article on Charleston City Paper's 2016 bassist of the year (yes, Will), then please do so here! (If you want. Not telling you what to do.)
